Check out the below fun facts from our therapists!

We rehab that!

  • Did you know that the biggest muscle in the body is the gluteus maximus muscle (buttocks muscle)?  A common injury related to this muscle is myofascial pain, which can be treated with manual therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises.

  • You have all the muscle fiber you will ever have at birth. Make sure you take care of each and every one of them!  We are here to help.

  • The human tongue consists of sixteen separate muscles.  We don’t treat that, but we are more than happy to educate our patients while using OUR sixteen muscles.

  • Your hands may not be the biggest part of your body, but they have 20 muscles.  Our hand therapists will help you make sure all are functioning correctly.

  • The sartorius muscle is the longest muscle in the body.  This muscle runs from the hip area diagonally across the thigh to the inside of the knee.  It helps flex the knee in activities such as walking and to rotate the leg.  If an injury occurs to this area, we can help return you to your daily activities.

  • Of the 206 bones in the skeletal system, 52 of them make up both of the feet.  Injuries to the foot can be debilitating.  Stress fractures, tarsal tunnel and heel spurs can be treated by your healthcare team.  We are happy to play a role in your recovery.

  • Humans and giraffes have the same number of bones in their necks.  Giraffe neck vertebrae are just much, much longer.  However, we only treat the human neck.  Come see us for any of your neck conditions.

  • The hand has 27 bones, 8 of which are in the wrist.  Hand injuries account for nearly 10% of hospital emergency department visits.  If you have a hand injury, whether traumatic or overuse, our experienced hand therapists can help.
